From her earliest memories, Bunny Levine has been passionate about entertaining. At just two years old, she performed the song "When I Grow Too Old to Dream" for her relatives at every opportunity. During her preschool years, she loved playing a game with her sister and friends that mimicked performances by current Hollywood stars, complete with screams and fainting, reflecting the style of the times. Her biggest regret was not being discovered in dance class like her contemporary Shirley Temple. By third grade, she had written, directed, and starred in the epic "Debbie's Diary." A year or so later, with growing maturity, she limited herself to participating in no more than two of these roles. Throughout elementary and high school, she took on lead or character roles in school and local productions. After transferring colleges following her sophomore year due to marriage, she reconsidered the prospects of a short, young, character woman achieving fame and fortune in theater, so she changed her major from Theater Arts but continued acting and working at the college radio station. Pregnant upon graduation, she set aside her acting ambitions for 25 years, primarily working as a school librarian to support her underpaid college professor husband and raise their three children. Storytelling and book talks helped satisfy her desire to perform. She avoided community theater, mistakenly believing she was too professional for it. Upon early retirement, she began taking acting classes, attending auditions, and gradually fully immersing herself in the exciting, chaotic world of acting. Soon she joined all the unions and started booking commercials, soap opera roles, episodic parts, and films. After the passing of her beloved husband Bernie, she relocated from the New York area to Los Angeles, continuing her studies, auditions, and career efforts. Her credits include Law & Order (1990), The Jimmy Show (2001), Everybody Loves Raymond (1996), Gilmore Girls, the upcoming Charles Busch film, and Las Vegas (2003). She considers herself the most energetic and agile septuagenarian in the field and the oldest active student, believing that one can never stop learning and exercising their acting skills.
