Biografía
Tracy Griffith began her career with a role in the slasher film Sleepaway Camp III: Teenage Wasteland (1989) and appeared on the daytime soap Guiding Light (1952) in New York. She landed her first feature film role as "Babe" in The Good Mother (1988), alongside Diane Keaton and Liam Neeson, directed by Leonard Nimoy. After moving to Los Angeles, Hollywood beckoned, and she soon secured her first leading role opposite Lou Diamond Phillips in The First Power (1990). She later starred with Rob Lowe in The Finest Hour (1992) and with Teri Hatcher in the comedy All Tied Up (1993). Other leading roles include the Sundance-selected independent film Joe & Joe (1995), the action film Skeeter (1993) for New Line Cinema, and Crazy in Alabama (1999), a TriStar production directed by Antonio Banderas featuring her half-sister, Melanie Griffith.
Her television work includes playing Johnny Depp's girlfriend on 21 Jump Street (1987), starring alongside Lindsay Wagner in Lifetime's Their Second Chance (1997), and portraying Laura Dern's sister in the mini-series The Siege at Ruby Ridge (1996). Tracy was a series regular on ABC’s drama The Monroes (1995), playing Kelly Monroe, the rebellious daughter of William Devane’s character. Other TV credits include co-starring in CBS movies Circle of Deceit (1998) with Janine Turner and Esai Morales, and Murder in the Mirror (2000), where she played Jane Seymour’s best friend. She also guest-starred on TNT’s Bull (2000). Tracy starred in pilot demos such as "A Fork on the Road" for the Food Network as a chef/host and "Prowler Girls," featuring a road trip in a Plymouth Prowler reminiscent of Thelma and Louise. A skilled sushi chef, she worked for a year at the trendy Beverly Hills restaurant Tsunami’s. In 2000, she appeared as the "mystery guest" on To Tell the Truth, successfully disguising her identity as a sushi expert.
Certified as a dive master, Tracy also enjoys playing guitar and singing. She has performed at various benefit events to support causes close to her heart, including animal rights and endangered species preservation. She attends fundraisers with Tippi Hedren, her friend and Melanie Griffith’s mother, to support the Shambala wild animal preserve. Tracy was honored as the first Miss Hot Tomato at the 10th Annual Carmel Valley Tomato Festival, serving as an honorary culinary judge and performing at the event, which raised funds for the American Red Cross and Boys & Girls Clubs. She is currently working on a screenplay and has authored two cookbooks. On September 17, 2011, she married Mark Daley, President of Polo Ralph Lauren.
Born on October 19, 1965, in New York City, Tracy Griffith is the daughter of Peter Griffith and his second wife Nanita Greene. She joined her half-sister Melanie Griffith and, two years later, her brother Clay A. Griffith, as part of their family of entertainers.
