Rick Siegel is an acclaimed Director of Photography with over 30 years of experience in film and television. He served as DP on the Emmy-nominated HBO Special Lady Day at Emerson's Bar & Grill, featuring Audra McDonald. His narrative film credits include the feature Bomber, directed by Paul Cotter; Trust, Greed, Bourbon & Bullets, directed by Scott Kawczynski; and the shorts The Shovel, The Dare Project, and 20 Dollar Drink.
Recent projects include the concert film Bill Murray, Jan Vogler & Friends: New Worlds; the Netflix feature documentaries Becoming with Michelle Obama and Dick Johnson Is Dead; and the HBO Max comedy special Chelsea Handler: Evolution. Siegel earned an Emmy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Single Camera Photography for his episodic narrative work on ABC's Crash The Curiousaurus. He has designed and shot over 200 televised music and comedy programs, including multiple seasons of A&E's Live By Request, PBS's In the Spotlight, and performances with Tony Bennett, Lady Gaga, Brad Paisley, Thomas Hampson, Sheryl Crow, and The Weeknd, as well as comedy specials featuring John Oliver, Craig Ferguson, Lewis Black, Kevin Hart, and Wyatt Cenac.
Siegel has also lit and filmed numerous celebrity interviews conducted by Diane Sawyer and Barbara Walters for ABC’s PrimeTime and 20/20, including Walters’ annual Most Fascinating People Specials. His commercial and infomercial clients include MTV, Nicoderm, Reebok, and Time-Life. In the realm of fashion and fragrance, he has collaborated with top designers such as Kanye West, Michael Kors, Calvin Klein, and Ralph Lauren.
