Kenya Dieja Williamson, author of "Depth of Focus: A Novel," studied at Temple University in Philadelphia before moving to Los Angeles, where she has appeared in numerous commercials, TV shows, and films. A Pennsylvania native, she is not only a novelist but also a screenwriter for television, film, and digital platforms.
Her performing career began in childhood with involvement in plays, musical theater, choirs, and orchestras. Inspired by poets like Poe and Byron, she started writing poetry, which later evolved into plays, scripts, and fiction.
Following small roles in films such as Samuel L. Jackson's One Eight Seven (1997) and Ice Cube's The Players Club (1998), as well as appearances on TV shows including Living Single (1993), Saved by the Bell: The New Class (1993), Yes, Dear (2000), and House (2004), Kenya shifted her focus to writing. She now limits her acting to commercials, a web series she also writes for, and voice work as a 9-year-old animated character named "Lorrin" for Health Nuts Media. She has written several scripts and is currently working on a new novel.
