Kaleo Elam represents the fourth generation in the Motion Picture Industry. His great-grandfather, Daniel Elam, started his acting career in the 1930s and 1940s as a bit player and extra. Daniel inspired his son, Greg W. Elam—Kaleo's grandfather—to pursue acting from a very young age. At just six years old, Greg appeared in his first film, Loving You, alongside Elvis Presley. With over 60 years in the industry, Greg W. Elam has built an impressive career as a stuntman, stunt coordinator, second unit director, and writer. His sons—Ousaun, Kiante, and Kofi Elam—have all established successful careers as stuntmen and stunt coordinators. Ousaun has doubled for Hollywood A-listers such as Denzel Washington, Laurence Fishburne, and Morris Chestnut. Kiante has doubled for Will Smith and exclusively for Samuel L. Jackson. Kaleo’s father, Kofi Elam, has stunt doubled for Brandon T. Jackson, Don Cheadle, D.L. Hughley, and others.
Kaleo Elam landed his first major role at just three years old, playing Ronnie Mackenzie, the two-year-old son of Maya Rudolph and Chris Rock’s characters in Grown Ups 2. In this comedic role, he captured audiences worldwide with his charm and cuteness. His timing was so impressive that during filming, Adam Sandler remarked, "Great job buddy, does anyone else have more lines to give him?" Kaleo’s memorable line, "Oh, that's cold," became one of the most iconic moments from Grown Ups 2, featured repeatedly in trailers and showcased at the People's Choice Awards. Although the film did not win Favorite Comedic Movie, millions recognized Kaleo’s unforgettable line.
Since Grown Ups 2, Kaleo Elam has kept a busy schedule, making guest appearances on television shows, starring in numerous national commercials, and featuring in print campaigns. The future looks bright and full of promise for this young talent.
