James Plumb is a film director and the owner of Mad Science Films, a Cardiff-based production company.
He has contributed to numerous award-winning short films, having written and directed titles such as 'Anticipation', 'Acts of God (Zilla)', 'Vertical', and 'Final Girl'. He also created the documentary 'Julian Doyle Masterclass' and directed two music videos for the band Don't Tread on Spiders: 'Cheer Up, It Might Never Happen' and 'Get Your Skates On, Billy'. Additionally, James served as Director of Photography on short films including 'Corridoring', 'Satnav', 'Alone with the Dead', 'The Big Pitch', 'The A Bit Bigger Pitch', 'Last Orders', and 'Rotter'.
In 2011, James made his feature directorial debut with 'Night of the Living Dead: Resurrection', a British adaptation of the 1968 zombie classic, which he also co-wrote. Filmed on location in South Wales with a modest budget, the movie was picked up by Grindstone Entertainment Group and Lionsgate Home Entertainment for North American distribution. UK distribution rights were secured by 4Digital Media, and the film premiered on November 30, 2012, in a limited theatrical release across Cineworld cinemas in Cardiff, Newport, Bristol, and Wolverhampton, alongside additional screenings at independent venues in Lancashire and Lincolnshire.
His second feature, 'Silent Night, Bloody Night: The Homecoming', is a British remake of the lesser-known American slasher film 'Silent Night, Bloody Night'. Shot in South Wales in 2012, the cast featured cult icon Adrienne King, known for the original 'Friday the 13th'. James directed and co-wrote the film, which was distributed in the UK by 101 Films, while Elite Entertainment acquired North American and international rights.
Currently, James is developing several feature film projects with Mad Science Films, aiming for production in 2013 and 2014.
