DEREK BRITT is a Peabody Award-winning producer, showrunner, and media executive working at the intersection of premium storytelling, strategic capital, and culturally defining IP. For more than three decades, he has developed, financed, created, and produced scripted and unscripted series, feature films, documentaries, live events, advertising campaigns, and innovated brand-integrated media across global platforms. His work spans partnerships with HBO, Amazon Studios, Lionsgate, Sony, Paramount, Freemantle, Discovery, PBS, A&E, and major international broadcasters.
Derek is known for architecting projects from idea through capitalization - structuring deficit finance, slate vehicles, strategic co-production partnerships, and IP-ownership models designed for long-term asset value. His approach blends creative conviction with disciplined financial engineering, allowing filmmakers and talent to retain meaningful ownership while building scalable enterprise value.
Beyond production, Derek has launched and led media divisions for public and venture-backed companies, built revenue-generating content ecosystems that unlocked nine-figure growth, and expanded distribution across broadcast, streaming, and digital networks. He founded and exited several media platforms, from production to e-commerce. He was the architect and company owner who took a household media company public. He’s held first-look deals with Amazon Studios and worked closely with such icons as Roger King (KingWorld/Viacom) in the creation of brand-driven syndication and TV media deals.
Today, Derek is focused on building a next-generation studio model: one that merges auteur-driven filmmaking, premium television, gaming-adjacent IP, and brand collaboration into ownership-focused franchises designed for a global audience. His mandate is selective - culture-forward projects with measurable upside and long-term equity value. He believes enduring content sits at the intersection of bold creative authorship, disciplined execution, and aligned capital.
