Adam Garrett Kobs was born in Long Beach, California in 1996. He is the only son to parents, Garrett Kobs and Claudia (Olvera) Kobs. Adam moved to Texas at 13mos and still calls Texas home. Raised in Houston, Texas, Adam knew he wanted to be a part of film production by age 7 after seeing his mother perform in local community theater. Adam went on to do 8yrs of musical theater while in middle school and high school. He was cast in various stage productions such as My Fair Lady, Get Smart, A Christmas Carol, Joseph and The Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, The Wizard of Oz, Disney's Beauty and The Beast, and Pippin. Two of his high school productions were nominated for Best Musical under the Tommy Tune Award Program. The Tommy Tune Awards Program celebrates the educational value, artistry, and community of high school musical theater in the Greater Houston area. Adam had the honor to meet legendary actor, Tommy Tune, and perform at the Houston Hobby Theater Under The Stars stage 2yrs in a row. His high school also offered Video & Media Technology elective, which gave Adam his first opportunity to learn about camera use, green screen, and audio equipment, in relation to live productions. Adam then chose to attend Baylor University and earn a BA in Film & Digital Media Production in 2019. While at Baylor, Adam worked at the campus auditorium Waco Hall which added hands on experience in working, learning and eventually leading some live stage productions. Waco Hall hosts many traditional Baylor events such as Sing Baylor, After Dark, Senior Ring Ceremony, Pigskin Revue along with other Homecoming events. It is also the venue used by the Waco Symphony Orchestra throughout the year. Adam's career began as a rough-cut editor for Lifetime's TV My 600lb Life: Season 9 at Megalomedia Productions which ended due to Covid. He then switched to freelance editing under his own production label: Kayobeus Productions. Adam ultimately chose to pursue film production and joined the team at AMS Pictures in 2021. He continues to be active in all areas of film production while working on various TV Shows, Documentaries, and Films.
