Brian Coffey is a Scottish producer working in film and television. He is currently in post-production on the second series of the RTS and BAFTA Award-winning BBC and Hulu comedy Dinosaur. He recently produced the upcoming TV series Coldwater, featuring Andrew Lincoln, Ewen Bremner, Indira Varma, and Eve Myles. Written by David Ireland, this 6 x 60-minute thriller was made by Sister Pictures for ITV and will premiere on ITV1 on September 14th, 2025. In 2023, Coffey produced the first season of Dinosaur for Two Brothers Pictures, for BBC and Hulu. The series launched on Hulu on April 5th, 2024, and aired on BBC Scotland, BBC Three, and BBC One throughout April 2024, with all episodes available on BBC iPlayer.
In 2022, Coffey produced the Sky Original film Dead Shot, starring Colin Morgan, Aml Ameen, Sophia Brown, Felicity Jones, and Mark Strong. He also produced Michael Caton-Jones' feature Our Ladies, financed by Sony Pictures International and Screen Scotland. The film premiered at the London Film Festival in 2019 and began its theatrical release in late 2020. Coffey co-produced Ninian Doff's debut feature Get Duked! alongside Matthew Plouffe, Tobey Maguire, and Laura Tunstall. The film had its world premiere at SXSW 2019, where it won the Audience Award in the Midnight Section, and its European premiere as the Opening Gala of the 2019 Edinburgh International Film Festival. Amazon Studios released the film worldwide on Amazon Prime.
Coffey's earlier producing credits include Malevolent (directed by Olaf De Fleur), The Legend of Barney Thomson (directed by Robert Carlyle), Swung (directed by Colin Kennedy), and Citadel (directed by Ciarán Foy). He also served as co-producer on David Mackenzie's Outlaw King and Starred Up, working alongside producer Gillian Berrie.
