Many recognize Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace primarily from Big Brother (2000) and her subsequent accomplishments. Yet, her real-life story goes far beyond any reality TV narrative.
Born into a wild North London punk family where Boy George was a frequent guest, Aisleyne faced a turbulent youth. After suffering a serious assault that required hospitalization, she left home at 16. Alone in London, she stayed in a hostel surrounded by frightened women and the city's dangerous gang culture. Despite losing close friends and loved ones to drugs, knives, and gun violence, Aisleyne was determined to escape, pursuing fashion design and textiles at The London College of Fashion.
Her breakthrough came as a contestant on "Big Brother 7" (2006), where she underwent an emotional journey and emerged as the top female finalist, earning widespread public admiration. Since then, she has demonstrated that it's possible to rise above difficult beginnings. Constantly in the public eye, she has built a successful career as an entrepreneur, TV personality, actress, author, columnist, fashion designer, model, and media figure.
Aisleyne has appeared across numerous drama, entertainment, and factual TV programs on all major UK and Irish networks. She portrayed Maria in the urban comedy film Anuvahood (2011). In 2016, she returned to the Big Brother House for 10 days as a Legendary Guest Housemate. From 2015 onwards, she has been the Big Brother/Celebrity Big Brother columnist for the Mirror and later The Sun for every series.
She owns the glamorous women's clothing brand "Unique by Aisleyne" and launched her fitness app 'Aisleyne 7 Min. Workouts' in 2016.
Aisleyne has actively supported numerous charitable causes. During the 2020 Covid-19 pandemic, she provided an apartment for use by the University College Hospital's Critical Care team, just as she had done for Grenfell Tower residents after the 2017 fire. She also delivered meals to medical staff and frontline workers, contributed to fundraising for NHS Charities Together, and helped promote the DHSS campaign to recruit more care workers.
Her compelling story is recounted in her autobiography "Surviving Guns, Gangs and Glamour," published by Random House.
