Romuald Hivert is a young Black Canadian actor who grew up in Montreal and received classical training at the Ottawa Theatre School before beginning his acting career in Vancouver in 2010. His recent television credits include "The Whispers," "Almost Human," and "Continuum." Currently, he is training with Nadine Wright of ACT2 and has recently completed studies with Matthew Lillard and Bill Marchant while attending the renowned Vancouver Film School's Acting Program. Romuald has continued to develop his craft by working with industry professionals such as Peter D. Marshall, Sam Hill, Simon Barry, Nicholas Humphries, Sean Cox, Patrick Gilmore, Carrie Anne Fleming, and Jessica Leigh Clark-Bojin, among others.
Romuald is recognized for "driving the scene" in a variety of roles, including a prisoner in "Stay of Execution," a soldier in "The Whispers," and a sniper in "Hickory." His charismatic presence shines in "Evermore," a short film produced by Ian Berg, currently in post-production. His first declared fan was an 8-year-old boy who saw him portray Duane, a mischievous imaginary older brother, in Tim Wynne Jones's play "Mischief City." The boy expressed a desire to be like Duane when he grew up, a sentiment that both surprised and touched Romuald.
Upon completing his theatrical diploma, Romuald demonstrated his talents as a writer, director, and producer with the play "Black Dove," which combined poetry, acting, and dancing in a one-act performance at Carleton University. Romuald Hivert looks forward to securing his first major lead role in an award-winning TV series or a feature film alongside actors like Denzel Washington or Sean Penn.
