Dawn McCoy was born in Dallas, Texas. She is an actor, television host, and personality—not just in the typical "TV personality" sense. Growing up in Dallas, her family often sang oldies to her: Lloyd Price's "You've Got Personality" when they admired her zest for life, and Joe Jones' "You Talk Too Much" when they weren't quite as pleased. Even from a young age, Dawn had a deep love for people. She showed a natural talent not only for conversation but for connecting with others, communicating effectively, and inspiring those around her to embrace happiness. She genuinely brought sunshine and smiles wherever she went. That radiant smile has led her down a colorful, unexpected path—at times serving as Barbra Streisand's personal shopper, a makeup artist, and a country singer—only to realize that her earliest and purest gift was, in fact, her greatest.
Today, she shares that gift as a host, writer, humanitarian, social media influencer, beauty and lifestyle expert, public speaker, actor, and singer/songwriter. She certainly keeps busy. As one of Los Angeles’ most respected food enthusiasts, at least she never goes hungry or thirsty.
A passionate advocate for doing good, Dawn has served as the spokesperson and Global Ambassador for Unite4Good, and is also an ambassador for No Kid Hungry and Dress For Success. Her philanthropic social media campaign, #Dear15Me, was featured on The Real. As a voiceover artist, her voice has been heard in ads for Marshalls, Subaru, Serta, Target, Overstock, Diet Dr. Pepper, Little Tikes, UPS, and many others.
Dawn resides in Los Angeles with her Maltese dog, Miss Ellie, in a home affectionately called "Casa Texicali"—because you can take the girl out of Texas, but you can never take Texas out of the girl.
