Isaacs, born in New York City, has been active in the motion picture and television industry since 1979, working as a writer, producer, and director for companies such as Columbia Pictures, Rastar Films, Touchstone Pictures, Walt Disney, Paramount Pictures, NBC, The Kushner-Locke Company, Star Cinema Productions, Le Monde Entertainment, F.W.E., SyFy Pictures, MM Productions, and Amblin Entertainment.
In 2013, Isaacs created and produced the award-winning documentary "Tough Ain't Enough: Conversations With Albert S. Ruddy," which spotlighted the life and career of two-time Oscar-winning producer Albert S. Ruddy. Following the film's success, Isaacs launched The Film History Preservation Project and The Producers Showcase, a documentary series featuring acclaimed producers sharing personal oral histories about the challenges and triumphs involved in creating some of the industry's most iconic films.
In 2016, he produced and directed a documentary about Academy Award-winning producer and former studio head Alan Ladd, Jr., which premiered on TCM in 2017. That same year, he also produced and directed a documentary on Mace Neufeld. In 2020, Isaacs served as creative consultant on the documentary "Napoli Eden," which qualified for Academy Award consideration. In 2022, he was production supervisor, second unit director, and creative consultant on the documentary "We Are Art." For his contributions to The Film History Preservation Project, Isaacs was named in the 2021 and 2022 editions of "Who's Who in America.
