Kevin McGinley Producer
Kevin McGinley has spent the last twenty-five years as a talent agent, talent manager, and feature film and television producer. After starting his career at James, Levy, Jacobsen, working for Randy James-one of the top talent managers in the entertainment business, -Kevin went on to work for John Pierce, who owns the best commercial agency in the entertainment business, JPA, where he discovered and worked with clients such as Aaron Paul, Scoot McNairy, Amelia Cooke, Tamera Feldman, Samaire Armstrong, Shannon Sossamon, Rachel Bilson, Cameron Richardson, Emilie de Ravin, and many other up-and-coming talents.
John Pierce then formed a talent management company called The Group Management along with his already respected commercial agency JPA, Kevin then departed JPA and The Group Management and was hired by talent agent and talent agency owner Bonnie Liedtke, Co-Owner and Founder of TalentWorks, Bonnie is known for discovering and building the early careers of future A-list stars like Leonardo DiCaprio, Hilary Swank, Zac Efron, Selma Blair, and Cole and Dylan Sprouse, among many others. Bonnie Liedtke handpicked Kevin to work directly with the Vice President of Adult Talent, Joel Dean where he worked with talent such as David Hasselhoff, Mario Lopez, William Shatner, Larry Hagman, and screen legends like Eli Wallach, Martin Landau, and Joan Collins.
Kevin was then hired by Cindy Kazarian, the owner of Kazarian, Spencer & Associates, as the department head of the Adult Television & Film division, where he represented iconic and up-and-coming talent such as Rance Howard, Adam West, Lynda Carter, Chad Allen, Kelly LeBrock, Leslie Bega, Carrie Southworth, Vanessa Britting, Erika Eleniak, Nicole Lenz, Veronique Vicari, Matt Delia, Justin Allen, Amber Lancaster, Kara Taitz, Mark Povinelli, Daniel Franzese, Blake Lee, Brock Kelly who became a long time client and friend and many others before co-founding the talent agency Ideal Talent Agency (I.T.A) with Ryan Hayden. During that time, he represented actors Shane West, Alkaline Trio and Blink-182 lead singer Matt Skiba, Natassia Malthe, Brock Kelly Heath Freeman, and many other up-and-coming actors and A-list movie stars and rock stars looking to break into acting when not on tour with their respective bands.
Kevin then decided to depart the agency (I.T.A) he co-founded due to creative differences with his business partner. He went back into talent management and started to learn film financing when he joined Rogues Gallery Management and Worldview Entertainment, a film financing company that raised the money for feature films like Alejandro G. Iñárritu's Birdman or (The Unexpected Virtue of Ignorance), Zach Braff's Wish I Was Here, and the James McAvoy film Welcome to the Punch.
Kevin was hired by Molly Connors and Chris Woodrow to work with Blaine K. Johnson, where he continued to represent actors Brock Kelly, Misty Upham, American Idol winner Taylor Hicks, and actor/director William Zabka. He learned the complexities of film financing from Molly Connors and Chris Woodrow as they put together the financing for feature films such as Killer Joe, directed by William Friedkin and starring Matthew McConaughey, Emile Hirsch, and Juno Temple, and John Hillcoat's crime thriller Triple 9, starring Casey Affleck, Aaron Paul, Anthony Mackie, Woody Harrelson, Kate Winslet, Gal Gadot, Norman Reedus, and Teresa Palmer.
Kevin then rejoined The Group Management, which had grown into a highly successful management and production company. John had single-handedly managed and built the careers of Scoot McNairy, Andrew J. West, Jocelin Donahue, and many others, and was raising money to finance and produce independent feature films such as Straight A's starring Ryan Phillipe and Ana Paquin ad was raising the money for a feature film called Frank and Cindy, which Rene Russo had attached herself to star in-her very first independent feature film, as she had only done major studio films at that point, the most recent being the Marvel Thor series, in which she played Thor's (Chris Hemsworth's) mother.
Kevin was brought in to manage clients such as Arielle Vandenberg, Fabienne Therese, Sadie Salazar, and other up-and-coming new actors. Kevin thrived in the management world, helping to build actors' careers from the start-usually helping actors book the first jobs they ever land and do the network and studio deals for the first pilots some newer actors get.
At The Group Management, Kevin was known for his strong eye for talent and business acumen, which crossed over well into the alternative TV world. This led him and Marielle Skouras to sell the television show Treasure King, which ran a full season on the Reelz network. They also created numerous pilots that were pitched and even sold, though not all were picked up to series. Kevin has produced content of all kinds-from short films to indie features and documentaries.
During the production of Frank and Cindy, starring Rene Russo and Oliver Platt, he worked with and met Bill Perkins, a multi millionaire film financier, and Bic Tran, a producer whom Bill Perkins brought on as his on-set producer after John Pierce convinced him to finance the $1.5 million budget for Frank and Cindy.
After production of Frank and Cindy wrapped, Kevin and Marielle Skouras sold the production company they formed Deer Mode Entertainment which included about a dozen or so projects that (DME) owned the IP of and so Bill Perkins existing production co Lleju Entertainment, formed Lleju TV Productions to create scripted and unscripted television pilots, docu-series, and limited television series.
Currently, Kevin is producing and developing feature films and limited television series and raising money for films, media projects, and television shows through hedge funds in the UK and other private equity-based companies in europe specializing in financing for various film, television projects, podcasts, true crime thrillers and family friendly features as well as independent film festival award contenders.
