A Portland native, Jana appears alongside Dwayne Johnson and Russell Brand on "Ballers" and returns this season on CW's "Jane The Virgin."
Her recent projects include Lifetime's "My Teacher My Obsession," FX's "Znation," a recurring role on IFC's "Portlandia," Macon Blair's "I Don't Feel At Home In This World Anymore" starring Elijah Wood and Melanie Lynskey, and "Seaside" with Ariana DeBose, directed by Sam Zalutsky.
She has appeared on NBC's "Grimm" with Russell Hornsby, David Giuntoli, and Sasha Roiz, and starred in "A Walk in My Shoes" alongside Nancy Travis ("Last Man Standing") and Philip Winchester. Earlier, she worked with Harrison Ford and Brendan Fraser in "Extraordinary Measures." Her television credits also include TNT's "Leverage," four seasons on "The West Wing," "E.R.," "Family Law," and "Lincoln Heights." She has collaborated with Martin Sheen, George Clooney, Allison Janney, Richard Schiff, John Spencer, and Harvey Keitel. Locally, she has worked with directors and producers such as David Cress ("Portlandia," "Restless"), Marc Steele ("Undeserved"), Neil Kopp ("I Don't Feel at Home In This World Anymore"), and James Westby ("Rid of Me," "The Auteur," "Film Geek"). Her commercial work, both national and regional, is extensive. Recently, she broadened her live theater experience, portraying Morgan Fairchild in the Portland premiere of Artists Repertory Theater's "Trevor" and Emily in Beirut Wedding's production of "Reborning."
In addition to her film and stage work, Jana is the founder and owner of Jana Lee Hamblin's Act Now Studio in Portland, OR. With over 12 years as a coach and mentor, she fosters a creative and supportive environment for actors to develop their skills. She teaches at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles and continues to coach actors privately.
In her free time, Jana enjoys hiking the desert landscapes of Southern California on horseback or exploring Portland’s rainy forest trails with her three dogs. She is a dedicated animal rights advocate.
