From Latinos and Russians to Spaniards and Americans; from villains to heroes; from prime time to children's programming; in both English and Spanish; across television, film, and theatre, Alejandro Furth has demonstrated remarkable versatility, earning critical acclaim.
As the world adapts to this "new normal," Mr. Furth continues his work on a new Apple Plus TV project by Mark Boal. Currently, Alejandro stars as Roman Salgado, a journalist known for exposing corruption and drug trafficking, in the international hit series Narcos: Mexico on Netflix. He has received two SAG Award nominations alongside the cast of BARRY (HBO) for "Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series."
Born and raised in Venezuela, Alejandro studied at the prestigious Neighborhood Playhouse School of the Theatre in New York City. While there, he joined the award-winning The Lab Theatre (formerly Circle Rep Lab) and the LAByrinth Theater Company.
Capitalizing on the growing international market, Alejandro quickly secured roles in prime-time Spanish television, as well as projects in Venezuela, Mexico, and Colombia.
Despite his success in TV and film, Alejandro has maintained his theatrical roots. After relocating to Los Angeles, he founded La Comuna, the Latino production unit of the acclaimed MET Theatre in Hollywood, where he directed and produced new works. Following La Comuna, Mr. Furth became a member of the award-winning Elephant Theatre Company. There, he performed in the West Coast premiere of Tony Award-nominated playwright Stephen Adly Guirgis' The Little Flower of East Orange. In 2019, Furth starred in the English-language production of José Sanchis Sinisterra's Spanish classic AY, CARMELA! at the Hudson Theatre in Hollywood. The production was directed by Venezuelan award-winning director Alberto Arvelo, featured sets by world-renowned architect Frank Gehry, and music conducted by LA Philharmonic maestro Gustavo Dudamel.
Alejandro Furth serves on the board of "Venezolanos en Hollywood," a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting Venezuelan artists in the United States.
