Sam Lahoud is a scriptwriter, a director, a producer, a script consultant, and a lecturer in Film, Theater, and Media. He started his career in Film and Theater in 1994, and since then he has written, directed and/or produced theater plays, films and documentaries, among which: Void (Lebanese Submission to the Academy Awards 2015), Good Morning, and C-Section (Golden Globes Shortlisted 2020)
Founding President of Beirut Film Society, a non for profit association that promotes for Responsible Cinema, and works with national and international parties towards a vision for a "Film Friendly Lebanon" Listed for three years at the Arab Cinema Center Magazine, Festival de Cannes edition, among the Golden 101 names that matter in the Arab Cinema.
Founder, Director of Beirut International Women Film Festival. Founder, Director of Beirut Shorts International Film Festival, Acadmy Awards Qualifying Film Festival. Founder, Director of Beirut International Children and Family Film Festival. Founder, Director of Cinema for Peace Summer Camp Academy and Film Festival Founder of the Lebanon Cinema Days in Canada, USA and UK, and of the Lebanese Film Festival in Latin America and in Canada. Short Films Programmer for Rabat International Author Film Festival. Member of the National Film Committee at the Lebanese Ministry of Culture between 2014 and 2020. Former Short Films Curator for HFPA Snow Leopard Award & Scholarship for Asian Middle East Countries.
Holds a PhD in Information and Communication, Masters in Media Studies, and Masters in Scriptwriting; Senior Lecturer in Media and Film at Notre Dame University-Louaize, where he served as Director for the Division of Audio Visual Arts, Chairperson for the Department of Media Studies, and Founder and Director for the Office of Communications. He teaches courses in Scriptwriting, Film Production, Directing, Media Law and Ethics, and Media Literacy and Peace Building.
