Melissa Ponzio stars in the Paramount+ revival Teen Wolf: The Movie (2023), reprising her cherished role as Melissa McCall, the dedicated single mother of Scott (Tyler Posey). She originally appeared in MTV's international hit series Teen Wolf (2011) for six seasons and 100 episodes.
Melissa had a recurring role on NBC's Chicago Fire (2012) as Donna Robbins, wife of Chief Boden (Eamonn Walker), a teacher, and close friend to Firehouse 51 throughout eight seasons.
Fans of AMC's The Walking Dead (2010) will recognize Melissa as Karen, an original Woodbury resident and the sole survivor of the Governor’s army attack in the season three finale. In season four, Karen, who shared a close bond with Tyrese (Chad L. Coleman), met a tragic and pivotal end.
In 2021, Melissa appeared in the Netflix original film Thunder Force, written and directed by Ben Falcone, starring alongside Octavia Spencer and Melissa McCarthy.
She will also be featured in Ali Scher’s film The Friendship Formula, acting alongside Cheryl Hines as Mrs. Idle, the chemistry teacher of an 11-year-old genius who creates a popularity formula for the state science fair, turning the high school social order upside down.
Melissa starred opposite Hilary Swank in the HBO film Mary and Martha (2013), directed by Phillip Noyce. Her other film credits include HBO’s historical drama Warm Springs (2005) with Kenneth Branagh and Cynthia Nixon, and Warner Bros.’ comedy Life as We Know It (2010) with Josh Duhamel and Katherine Heigl.
She lends her voice to the iHeartMedia podcast Bridgewater (2021), which debuted at #1 on the Apple Fiction Podcast Charts and won Best Fiction Podcast at the 2022 iHeartRadio Podcast Awards. Melissa plays Anne Becker, a weary retired detective balancing cynicism and belief in the supernatural.
Her notable television roles include recurring parts on Hulu’s The Girl from Plainville (2022) with Elle Fanning, BET+’s First Wives Club (2019), Cinemax’s Banshee (2013), and Lifetime’s Army Wives (2007). She has guest-starred on The Following (2013), Touch (2012), Necessary Roughness (2011), Franklin & Bash (2011), Drop Dead Diva (2009), the CSI franchise (CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and CSI: Miami), and The Vampire Diaries (2009). Melissa also appeared in the Snapchat original comedy Everything's Fine (2021) from Paul Feig’s Powderkeg Productions, creator Hannah Klein, and executive producer Pete Wentz.
