Deena Dill began her television career playing heartbroken love interests in over two dozen country music videos, transforming that emotional experience into a successful career both on-screen and behind the scenes.
As an actress, Deena is set to have a recurring role on "Ambitions," a multi-generational family drama from producer Will Packer, Lionsgate, and Debmar-Mercury, premiering in 2019 on OWN: Oprah Winfrey Network. She plays Juniper Purifoy, the wife of Purifoy Pharmaceuticals' CEO, Hunter Purifoy (Brian Bosworth).
Behind the camera, Deena is an award-winning creator, executive producer, and writer. She has developed, sold, and produced shows aired on major U.S. broadcast and cable networks, as well as internationally. Deena co-created, executive produced, and wrote for The CW's prime-time game show "Oh Sit!," which won the Rose d’Or Award for Best International Game Show. The show was produced by The Gurin Company and 405 Productions in association with Warner Horizon Television. She also produced and wrote for Perfectly You, a syndicated wellness and fitness show broadcast in over 60 U.S. markets, and produced and hosted the Documentary Channel’s DocFest.
Recently, Deena appeared in Lifetime’s "Conrad & Michelle" as Gayle Carter, mother of accused "text killer" Michelle Carter (Bella Thorne). She had recurring roles on ABC’s "Suburgatory" and Nickelodeon’s "iCarly," and portrayed the leader of a terrorist organization on The CW's "Star-Crossed." Her other acting credits include HBO’s "Vice Principals," "Queen Sugar," "Dynasty," "Scandal," "Good Luck Charlie," "Bones," and "CSI: NY," along with numerous independent films. Before her prime-time TV roles, Deena performed stand-up comedy at renowned venues such as The Improv, The Comedy Store, and The Laugh Factory, and was inducted into the Friar’s Club.
Raised in Dayton, Tennessee, Deena graduated cum laude from Vanderbilt University. She competed as an NCAA Division I triple jumper and 100-meter hurdler and was a varsity cheerleader.
Deena enjoys acting, creating, and producing across various entertainment genres, but notes that her work on children’s shows has been especially rewarding. These roles have allowed her to engage deeply with children’s charities and support children in need. She actively volunteers for the NEA’s Read Across America program and the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital, and serves on the Board of Directors for the South Carolina Special Olympics.
Deena is a member of the PGA, SAG-AFTRA, WGA, and the Television Academy. She is represented by RCM Talent & Management and attorney Shannon Hensley.
