Christina Laia is a Canadian television presenter, producer, and journalist known for her work in broadcast media and digital storytelling. Born in Toronto, Canada, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Mass Communications and Political Science with a Media Specialist designation from York University. She furthered her studies in Spanish in Málaga, Spain, and holds a Can-Fit-Pro certification.
Her career in the entertainment industry began behind the scenes in Publicity & Promotions at MGM/UA in Toronto, where she worked on campaigns for both studio and independent films. Over the years, she expanded her expertise across multiple facets of media production, leading to her on-screen career.
In 2016, Christina created Star Foodies, a multicultural travel and cooking TV series that follows her journey to Greece, where she interviews celebrities and notable figures about their work, lifestyle, and wellness habits. She then returns to Canada to recreate their signature dish-sometimes with a chef, sometimes on her own-using Greek ingredients available locally. Star Foodies premiered in Canada in October 2018 on OMNI 1 (Ontario), OMNI Alberta, and OMNI British Columbia, establishing itself as a unique cross-cultural television format.
In December 2019, Christina joined The Weather Network as a television presenter, delivering weather and environmental segments for both live and recorded broadcasts. She also presented the weather live on weekends for CBC, further solidifying her role in Canadian broadcast journalism.
