Chris Matheny began his career as a child actor and model, trained by Dottie Mullis at the NC School of Beauty & Fashion. By age 14, he was modeling for print advertisements for brands such as Polo™ and Homelite-Jacobson™ Chainsaws. His early experience earned him Thespian status as a high school freshman. After graduating, Chris served in the Army, seeing combat in Iraq, where he became skilled in precision driving, hand-to-hand combat, small arms, Jeet Kune Do, Kung Fu, and Mixed Martial Arts. These diverse experiences enriched his acting. Beyond acting and modeling, Chris performs over 300 voices and accents, including numerous international ones.
His film credits include feature films like The Basement (2017), Slumber Party, Slaughter Party (2017), Four Blood Moons (2015), Athena, Goddess of War (2015), The Taking (2014), Captive (2014), and My Name is Paul (2013). He has also taken lead and supporting roles in shorts such as Permanent Press (2015), Marty (2015), and A Place Called Home (2014).
On television, Chris has appeared in Destination America's Project Afterlife (Pilot, 2015), TruTV's Lizard Lick Towing (Episode 4.11, 2013), and It's Supernatural (various episodes, 2012-2015).
Additionally, he has featured in national commercials for Lowe's™ Home Improvement stores and FedEx.
