Katherine Ramdeen is a Canadian actress from Edmonton, Alberta, and the middle of four siblings. She is best known for her role as Alex Jones on The CW's long-running series Supernatural and its shelved spin-off Wayward Sisters, where she reprised her character. Alex, a former blood-slave with mild Vampiric Stockholm Syndrome, is haunted by a traumatic childhood but remains a survivor, determined to build a better future. Coming from a family with no professional ties to the arts, Katherine has always admired actors’ ability to immerse audiences in their worlds and is drawn to roles featuring characters who have endured great tragedy and struggle with inner demons.
Classically trained, Ramdeen moved to Vancouver, BC, to pursue acting after being accepted into the prestigious Theatre Conservatory Studio 58. She earned the Beta Sigma Phi scholarship for excellence during her two years in the program. Shortly after, she signed with a leading Vancouver agency and agent who immediately recognized her talent. This was proven when Ramdeen booked her very first audition to work with acclaimed writer/director Pascal Laugier, sharing the screen with stars Jessica Biel, Jodelle Ferland, and Samantha Ferris in the award-winning film The Tall Man. Since then, Ramdeen has secured numerous film and television roles.
A vegan, feminist, and animal rights advocate, Ramdeen enjoys spending time with her rescue dog Hondjie (pronounced "Hoinky," Afrikaans for "little dog"), practicing aerial yoga and Brazilian Jujitsu, and studying mathematics and coding in her spare time. She follows Zen Buddhist philosophy and is a meditation student. Additionally, she streams on Twitch, where she founded Nibiru, an all-female competitive DOTA 2 esports team.
Katherine has written numerous short films and hopes to continue writing for entertainment projects, inspired by one of her role models, Jodie Foster, with whom she aspires to collaborate one day.
