Chris Luckhardt is the oldest son of Laurie and Linda Luckhardt, with a younger sister, Amanda, and a younger brother, Jason. Chris's ethnic background is German, British, Scottish, and Irish, with both of his parents being born in Canada, while his family hails from Germany and England. Growing up in Stratford, Chris had an early fascination with space and a dream of becoming an astronaut. This led him to pursue a Bachelor's of Science degree in Physics and Astronomy from York University. Although his career path would eventually take a different turn, that early passion for science and exploration laid the foundation for his analytical thinking, which would serve him well in his later career in film. Chris's journey into film began when he co-founded Sprinkles and Cake Film Productions with fellow filmmaker Carla Susanto. Their collaboration produced several short films that featured in film festivals worldwide. His first major industry role came in 2008 when he joined Poetic Licence Productions (PLP) as Chief Technical Officer and Producer. It was here that he and Montgomery Bjornson developed the hit Canadian superhero web series Team Epic (2009), which was later picked up by BiteTV. Over the years, Chris's career has spanned a variety of roles in film and television production. He has produced several award-winning short films such as Altarcations (2010) and Shaky Grounds (2010), and his production company, Willowood Films, has been dedicated to developing TV series, short films, and feature films. In addition, Chris's work as a Production Accountant on several high-profile TV series and feature films has added another layer to his skill set, demonstrating his versatility in the industry. Recently, Chris has been focused on production accounting and, in 2023, earned a Film & Television Production Accounting Certificate from the prestigious Schulich School of Business. Since then, he has worked on a variety of notable projects, including the TV Mini-Series Sounds Black (2025) and several feature films like Sidd (2025), Recipe for Romance (2025) (2024), Ballistic (2025) (2024), The Well (2025) (2024), Infiltrate (2026) (2024), Whiteout (2023) (2023), Orah (2024) (2023), Café Daughter (2024) (2023), and Hunting Grounds (2025) (2023). Chris's career path is a testament to his adaptability and diverse skill set. He has held positions such as Producer, Line Producer, Production Manager, Writer, Assistant Director, and now Production Accountant, making him a well-rounded and experienced professional in the Canadian film and television industry. His ability to navigate both the creative and financial aspects of production has made him a sought-after collaborator on a variety of projects. From his humble beginnings in Chatham to his current success in Toronto's film scene, Chris continues to build on his experiences, ever expanding his expertise in both film production and production accounting.
