Sonalii Castillo was born in the Dominican Republic and raised in France. After completing her education in Europe, her family relocated to New York City. Sonalii's striking beauty attracted several modeling agencies, leading her to work in print and commercial modeling. Discovering her passion for acting, she moved to Los Angeles and quickly signed with Redrock Entertainment Development.
Sonalii has secured notable roles on popular network television shows such as CBS's "NCIS: LA," NBC's "Heroes," and the CBS dramas "Without a Trace" and "CSI: Miami." Over the past few years, she has appeared in various films and independent features. Recently, she landed a leading role as Mackenzie Styles in the sci-fi thriller "Variant." She also joined the cast of the latest remake of "The Saint," portraying Sonali Alves alongside Adam Rayner as The Saint and Eliza Dushku as Patricia Holm. Additionally, she had a supporting role in Allison Anders' made-for-TV movie "A Crush on You" and starred in "Reboot," a cyberpunk film gaining significant attention and building a large international following.
The year 2018 marked an exciting period for Sonalii. That summer, she joined the cast of The CW’s hit show "The Outpost" as Essa Khan, a nomadic warrior bounty huntress; the show premiered on July 10th.
With over a decade of screen presence and notable credits alongside A-list celebrities, Sonalii Castillo is also an award-winning actress, director, and filmmaker.
As a filmmaker, Sonalii created, wrote, produced, and starred in "MAMBA," which has been screened across multiple countries and states in the US. "MAMBA" has won eight awards, including Best Short Film, Best Action Film, Best Action Thriller, and Best Actress for Sonalii. She received three Best Actress nominations for "MAMBA," winning twice.
Her first film, "Dahlias: Wild Card," screened at the Knickerbocker Film Festival, where she won the award for Best Direction. The film was also featured at the Dominican Film Festival and screened in the Dominican Republic at the Festival Cine de Cine Global Dominicano.
Sonalii also created the web series "Voodoo Vanessa," which has quickly captivated audiences, screening at multiple film festivals and winning two awards for Best Web Series.
In addition to English, she is fluent in French and Spanish. Sonalii’s genuine and sultry presence sets her apart, earning her a warm welcome from audiences alongside her A-list peers.
