Jordan Allen-Dutton, a three-time Emmy-nominated writer, was born in Palo Alto, California. He graduated from NYU's Tisch School of the Arts in 1999 as the inaugural recipient of the Artist Scholar Award. During his time at NYU, he co-created and starred in The Bomb-itty of Errors, a hip-hop adaptation of Shakespeare's Comedy of Errors, which became a hit Off-Broadway and toured the West End in London, Chicago, Florida, Dublin, Edinburgh, Los Angeles, St. Louis, Philadelphia, and Amsterdam. The production earned nominations for the Drama Desk Award and Outer Critics Circle Award, won the Jeff Award in Chicago, and secured the Grand Jury Prize for Best Show at the HBO US Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen.
Following the success of Bomb-itty, Jordan signed a groundbreaking three-tier deal with MTV and Paramount, producing, writing, and starring in the hip-hop sketch comedy series Scratch & Burn for MTV in 2002. He was later invited to be a fellow at the Sundance Screenwriting Lab for a screen adaptation of Bomb-itty. His subsequent play, Nerds—a musical comedy about Bill Gates and Steve Jobs—was workshopped at the New York Stage and Film Festival and premiered at the Philadelphia Theater Company in January 2007, winning Outstanding New Play and Outstanding Original Music at the 2007 Barrymore Awards.
Jordan has also contributed to television, producing and writing for shows such as Randy Jackson Presents: America's Best Dance Crew and the MTV Movie Awards, with his comedy material performed by talents including Ben Stiller and Will Ferrell. He received two Emmy nominations for writing on Robot Chicken, Seth Green and Matt Senreich's show on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim. Currently residing in Los Angeles, Jordan is developing his latest musical, Phenomenon, which offers a behind-the-scenes look at a highly corrupt television singing competition.
