Damien Atkins, originally from Australia, now resides in Toronto. He has performed on stages throughout Toronto, Canada, and the U.S., including at the prestigious Shaw and Stratford Festivals, as well as on television and in film. Damien began acting at age five with the St. Albert Children's Theatre in Alberta, a distinctive and highly regarded company that stages productions created by children for adult audiences. He studied theatre arts at Grant MacEwan College in Edmonton, gaining training in classical, modern, and musical theatre. Since graduating, he has appeared in works by Shakespeare, Wilde, and Pinter, as well as contemporary plays by Timothy Findley, Brad Fraser, and Mark Ravenhill. His television credits include NBC's "The Matthew Shepard Story," CBC's "This is Wonderland," BBC, CTV, Showtime's "Our Fathers," TMN, and Sundance Channel, where he was a regular in season 3 of the acclaimed Canadian series "Slings and Arrows." As a playwright, his work has been produced nationwide and broadcast on CBC Radio. Notably, he was the youngest playwright ever produced by the Stratford Festival. Damien is a two-time recipient of the Dora Mavor Moore Awards, which honor theatre excellence in Toronto.
