Nana Kagale Kagga, also known as Nana Kagga-Hill, Nana Hill, Nana Hill Kagga, or Nana Kagga-Macpherson, is a Ugandan filmmaker, content creator, scriptwriter, petroleum engineer, motivational speaker, and actress. She studied in both Uganda and the United Kingdom, earning a bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Birmingham, UK. During her summer breaks, she worked as a presenter for Jam Agenda on WBS, a popular Ugandan TV show.
Nana's father is a prominent engineer in Uganda, and along with her maternal grandfather, four of her siblings are also engineers. She is the sister of Meme Kagga and is known as the more extroverted and entertaining sibling.
Nana relocated from Florida to New Mexico in the US, where she worked as a process engineer. Later, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting and presenting career, achieving some success. She appeared in films such as Cowboys and Indians, A Good Day to Be Black & Sexy (Segment 'Reprise'), He's Just Not That Into You, and Star Trek. Her US TV credits include CSI: NY - Boo, Life, and Runway Stars. In theatre, she played Mercy in the play Butterflies of Uganda by Darren Dahms, which was nominated for an NAACP award. Nana featured in music videos for artists like PINK, Amy Winehouse, Sting, and Lenny Kravitz, as well as TV commercials for brands including KFC, Coors Light, Pepsi, DSW, Microsoft, Apple, Tylenol, and DOVE. While in Los Angeles, she co-owned a vintage and designer resale store on Santa Monica Blvd called A Vintage Affair.
In Uganda, Nana and her sister Meme founded Savannah MOON, a content production company that created the full-length feature film The Life (2012), which aired on M-NET, the TV series Beneath the Lies, shown on Urban TV and digitally distributed by MTN Uganda, and the TV program How We See It. Nana is passionate about motivating young Africans and established the initiative You Are Limitless (YAL) to inspire, guide, and encourage African youth to reach their full potential. Through her brand ACTA.Talent, she manages and nurtures actors and actresses. Nana also works as a petroleum engineer for a major oil and gas company operating in Uganda. She lives in Kampala, Uganda, and is fluent in English and Luganda.
