Fiona Mackenzie is a former television journalist and Hollywood studio executive with extensive expertise in developing, writing, casting, financing, and producing both studio and independent films as well as television series.
She founded Ascent Media Group (AMG), an intellectual property development company focused on creating high-quality entertainment with a global outlook. Established in 2018, AMG currently boasts a strong lineup of feature films and scripted series in development in collaboration with producers, production companies, and financiers. Fiona has participated as a panelist and guest at numerous major film and TV events, including the Dubai Film Festival, Venice Film Festival, Sundance, Cannes, Toronto, AFM, MIP TV, Real Screen, among others.
Before founding AMG, Fiona held senior creative and executive roles at Sony Pictures and 20th Century Fox, overseeing projects with budgets ranging from $8 million to $100 million. At Sony, she served as Vice President of Features and Television at Turman Morrison (known for American History X, Oscar nominee) and later had an in-house producing deal with Davis Entertainment at 20th Century Fox.
She is the original producer of "Warrior Queen," developed at Paramount Pictures in partnership with Robert De Niro's Tribeca Films. Additionally, she contributed to the first season of the acclaimed series "The Highlander" in Paris for Gaumont/Lionsgate.
In Paris, Fiona launched her first production company, producing and writing content for CNN, Canal Plus, and ABC. Prior to her journalism career, she earned a BA from the University of California, Berkeley, followed by a Master’s degree from Georgetown University's Graduate School of Foreign Service in Washington, D.C. Fiona holds dual citizenship in the US and UK and divides her time between Los Angeles and London.
