Viviana Serna Ramírez was born in Cali, Colombia, to parents from Valle Del Cauca and raised in Armenia, Colombia. She discovered her passion for acting early on, actively participating in arts programs during elementary school as a radio host, performing arts club member, and dance ensemble participant. At 13, she was chosen to host a local TV program, marking the start of her career. At 17, she moved to Bogotá to pursue formal acting training under Alejandra Borrero, Juan Pablo Félix, Ana María Sánchez, and Grace Denoncourt. By 19, Viviana secured her first series regular role in the primetime TV series "Confidencial." She went on to appear in various series including "La Viuda Negra," "La Bruja," "La Ronca de Oro," "Quién Eres Tú," "Señora Acero," "El Señor de Los Cielos 3," "Guerra de Idolos," "Narcos México" season 2, "Supertitlán," and "Las Pelotaris 1926." Recently, she filmed "La Vorágine," a Colombian drama series inspired by the renowned book of the same name, produced by Quinto Color.
Viviana’s first feature film role was as Giselle in "Between Sea and Land," which earned critical acclaim, including the World Cinema Dramatic Special Jury Award for acting (awarded to Vicky Hernández and Manolo Cruz) and the World Cinema Audience Award: Drama at Sundance 2016. For this role, Viviana received the Best Supporting Actress Award at the Scottsdale International Film Festival in 2016. In 2018, she starred in the Mexican comedy "Tramposos Con Suerte." Her latest feature film, "Mentirosos," a Colombian comedy, is set for release in 2025.
Currently, Viviana divides her time between Mexico City and Monterrey. She has been a brand ambassador for Carolina Herrera, Tous, Dior Beauty, Reebok, H&M, Herbal Essences, Tequila Don Julio, and Steve Madden. She recently began training with acting coach John Markland in Los Angeles.
In her free time, Viviana enjoys traveling and volunteering.
