Phil Buckman, originally from Queens, New York, and former bassist for Filter, FUEL, and currently Petty Cash, moved to Los Angeles as a teenager via Baltimore, MD, and Boston, MA. He quickly established himself in the L.A. music scene as the bassist for the energetic Tribal Sex Cult. After T.S.C. disbanded, Phil stayed active across numerous projects including Steel Panther, Texture (Vital Recordings), Helicopter Helicopter (Initial Records), Fine (Flip Records), Onesidezero (Maverick), the Imposters (Interscope), Kill the Complex, the Snow (Northern Lights), Volume (Concrete), and Go Betty Go (SideOneDummy), along with contributions to various film and TV soundtracks.
In addition to music, Phil has a thriving acting and voiceover career, having held series regular roles on TV shows such as Drexell's Class (FOX), Daddy's Girls (CBS), City of Angels (CBS), Bob Patterson (ABC), and most recently as art teacher Henry Preston on FOX’s Boston Public. He also appears as himself in the acclaimed music documentary HIRED GUN. After stepping back from acting to tour extensively as a musician, Phil has returned to on-camera work, appearing in TV shows like MOM (CBS), SCHOOLED (ABC), and BROKE (CBS). Upcoming projects include the Lifetime movie SUGAR MOMMY and the FOX series THE RESIDENT. From 2000 to 2017, Phil’s voice was featured daily on TV and radio as the voice of the CARL'S JR. and HARDEE'S restaurant chains, and as of June 2019, he resumed voicing commercials for CARL'S JR. His voice work also includes FOX’s THE ORVILLE, THE TODAY SHOW'S Summer Concert Series, Yamaha motorcycles and ATVs, the WORLD OF WARCRAFT video game, Nestle Crunch, Cheez-Its, and numerous commercials, video games, cartoons, and promos for networks like CBS, ABC, NBC, FOX, Pivot, Adult Swim, The Weather Channel, MSG, and more.
