Annett Culp is a German actress who gained prominence on German television with her starring role as Silke Voss in the daily soap opera "Verbotene Liebe" from 2004 to 2005. Since then, she has portrayed numerous characters in various German TV series, including recurring roles in popular shows like "Gute Zeiten, Schlechte Zeiten," "Wolffs Revier," and "Die Wache."
In the United States, Annett was discovered by renowned director and screenwriter Zalman King, known for films such as "9 1/2 Weeks" and "Wild Orchid." King noticed her when she accompanied a friend to a casting session and subsequently invited her to audition again the following week. After that audition, she landed the lead role of Anastasia in the Showtime series "ChromiumBlue.com," which aired for 13 episodes in 2002. That same year, she played Nina in the independent film "Outcasts," written and directed by Johnny Asuncion. Originally, the role was intended for an 18-year-old from East Los Angeles, but the director recast it after meeting Annett. The film was showcased at the Dances With Film festival in Los Angeles and received critical acclaim.
Born in 1978 in Potsdam, Germany, Annett Mohamed Elmaghrabi is of mixed heritage, with a Sudanese father and a German mother. She is the granddaughter of Abdel Fattah Mohamed Elmaghrabi, the first democratically elected President of Sudan following its independence in 1956.
Career:
In 1996, Annett moved to Los Angeles to study acting at the Playhouse West School and Repertory Theatre, graduating in 2000. She trained under instructors including Jeff Goldblum. While studying, she worked as an extra on various Hollywood productions and TV series such as "Saved By the Bell," "Barbwire," and "The Nutty Professor" to gain practical experience.

Besides acting, she is a certified yoga instructor who studied extensively under renowned teacher Brian Kest and holds a diploma from the International Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centres in Los Angeles. She is also skilled in martial arts, having trained with Eric Chen at the National Wushu Training Center and with Dan Inosanto at the Inosanto Academy. In 2013, she served as a jury member for the International Women's Film Festival in Morocco.
Annett is developing a personal project centered on her family saga, focusing on her grandfather Abdel Fattah Mohamed Elmaghrabi, Sudan’s first democratically elected president after independence. She and her father co-wrote "The Blue Nile," a family saga, which she presented at the Women Film Festival in Salé, Morocco, where it was warmly received by audiences and critics alike.
