Ron William Diesel (formerly Mackenzie) is an Australian concept creator, storyteller, and mythic thinker whose work has always explored consciousness, identity, and the unseen architecture of human experience. From a young age, he immersed himself in world religions, mythology, physics, and futurist thinkers such as Arthur C. Clarke, shaping a creative voice that blends emotional truth with visionary ideas.
Throughout the early 1990s, Ron developed a large body of conceptual material across genres of science fiction, fantasy, animation, drama, and large scale spectacle. In 1994, he came across contacts of a major studio while working as a Matri Di at a restaurant in Charters Towers and subsequently submitted his work to them. His ideas often explored simulated reality, human awakening, destiny, technology, and the tension between free will and control. During this period, many of his concepts circulated informally through industry contacts, sometimes reaching major studios without formal credit or protection. This experience became a defining part of his creative life and his ongoing journey to reclaim authorship of his own voice.
Ron’s conceptual work touched a wide range of projects, including early idea development, thematic exploration, and additional material for films and television that resonated with the themes he was exploring at the time. These include: The Matrix (1999), The Matrix: Path of Neo (2005) , Moulin Rouge! (2001),The Greatest Showman (2017), Australia (2008), Bewitched (2005), Big Brother Netherlands 2021 (2021), Toy Story (1995), Finding Nemo (2003), Welcome to Woop Woop (1997), Tomb Raider (1996), Titanic (1997), The Truman Show (1998), Duets (2000), Mr. & Mrs. Smith (2005), Inception (2010), Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997), Hannah Montana (2006),Sydney 2000 Olympics Opening Ceremony (2000) and closing ceremony, Men in Black (1997), and Lara Croft: Tomb Raider (2001), Big Brother (1999). His involvement in these works reflects the breadth of his conceptual imagination and the way his ideas often traveled beyond his direct control. In these projects, he named certain talents and technologies to be used in them.
Ron is formally credited as a creator of Big Brother Australia and co creator of Big Brother USA, two culturally significant works that helped shape modern entertainment.
