Pedro von Krüger is a director and cinematographer born in Salvador, Bahia. He spent his childhood between the North and Northeast regions of Brazil before settling in Rio de Janeiro in 1997, where he studied film and developed his career in the audiovisual field. With a consistent body of work spanning both fiction and documentary, Pedro has built a career marked by author-driven projects and significant collaborations in film and television. He currently serves as Treasurer Director of the Brazilian Association of Cinematography (ABC). As a director, he is developing the fiction feature film "A Estirada", in partnership with Sérgio de Carvalho. Among his recent works, he stands out as the creator of the multiplatform project "Um Dia Qualquer", which originated both a feature film and a two-season series in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery. Its second season reached the Top 10 series on Max. The film received international recognition, winning Best Director and Best Sound at the Linares Independent Film Festival (Spain), as well as three awards at the Overcome Film Festival (USA), including Best International Fiction Film. In fiction, he also directed the short film "Alvará". In documentary, he directed works such as "Estrada de Sonhos", "Memória em Verde e Rosa", and "Pulmão da Arquibancada", as well as the short films "A Incrível Volta ao Mundo do Tricolor Suburbano", which won Best Director at the Recine Festival in 2014, and "Agunia", which competed for Best Film at the São Paulo International Short Film Festival in 2018. As a cinematographer, he shot feature films such as "Noites Alienígenas* (dir. Sérgio de Carvalho), which won five Kikitos at the 2022 Gramado Film Festival, and "Serra das Almas" (dir. Lírio Ferreira), awarded at the São Paulo International Film Festival. In television and streaming, he has worked on series such as "Choque de Cultura - A Série" (Canal Brasil), "Tudo ou Nada: Seleção Brasileira" (Prime Video), "Meu Amigo Bussunda" (Globoplay), "Lei da Selva: A História do Jogo do Bicho" (Canal Brasil), "Som Sertanejo" (Multishow), "M.E.N.T.E.S." (History Brasil), and "Nokun Txai - Nossos Txais" (Prime Video). He also joined the crew of "Os Quatro da Candelária" (Netflix) as second unit director of photography and camera operator.
In documentary, he has collaborated on titles such as "Auto de Resistência", winner of Best Film at the É Tudo Verdade Festival; "Fevereiros", winner of Best Brazilian Film at the 10th In-Edit Brasil; and "Danado de Bom", for which he received the Best Cinematography award at Cine PE 2016. His filmography also includes "PRK-30 - O Rádio pelo Avesso!", "Geraldinos", "Eduardo Galeano: Vagamundo", "Zanine, O Ser do Arquitetar", "Um Filme de Cinema", and "A Arte Urbana".
