Mike Muscat, born at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, grew up living on or near various army bases as an Army brat. His family eventually settled in Gastonia, North Carolina, where he discovered his passion for acting in a high school drama class. Captivated by the craft, he knew from then on that he wanted to be an actor. Although he never fully "grew up," he pursued a career in acting.
After spending several years involved in community theater and acting in a few low-budget films shot near Charlotte, North Carolina, he enlisted in the Army. There, he served as an "Entertainment Specialist" at the Little Theatre in Ft. Rucker, Alabama. His responsibilities ranged from constructing sets and managing lighting to acting, directing, and writing some of the plays and skits performed.
Following his military service, Mike relocated to Hollywood. His first significant opportunity came on stage when he became a resident actor with the L.A. Shakespeare Festival, an Equity company, performing in five productions during his year with them. Subsequently, he was a resident actor at The Universal Studios Tour in Hollywood, starring for two years in "Castle Dracula," a stage show for tourists.
Over the past thirty years, Mike has developed a career in film and television, participating in numerous high-profile projects. He has also contributed behind the scenes as an on-set Acting Coach on several films, including Terminator 2: Judgment Day (1991). In addition to acting, Mike works as a professional magician and balloon artist at large events and private parties, coaches actors, and has authored numerous magazine articles—primarily about skydiving—as well as several scripts.
He is a father and grandfather, with one son and two grandsons. Mike Jr. is a skilled martial arts instructor at Ryan Hoover Extreme Karate in Gastonia, NC. To his grandsons, Gabriel and Silas, Mike Sr. is affectionately known as "Pappy.
