Bill Boyd Jr. has 40 years’ experience in the television/film industry. He has worked with legends such as comedian Jerry Lewis, producer/host Dick Clark, the "King of Pop" Michael Jackson, and country superstar Garth Brooks, just to name a few. Bill’s experience began right out of high school at Dick Clark Productions, where he has worked as the post supervisor/segment producer on major television shows and specials such as Dick Clark’s Nitetime, Rock N’ Roll Summer Action, Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin' Eve, The Golden Globe Awards, The American Music Awards, and The Academy of Country Music Awards. Other award shows he has been involved with are, The Saturn Awards, The Soul Train Awards, The Grammy Awards, and the Producers Guild Awards.
Bill has produced and directed concert openings for "Michael Jackson - LIVE in Concert in Bucharest: The Dangerous Tour" with MJJ Productions that aired on HBO, as well as "Hank Williams, Jr. - Double Eagle Tour" for pay-per-view television. In addition, he shot, produced and directed the 30 minute retrospective opening for the country super group Alabama’s "June Jam 10th Anniversary". He was also involved with the LIVE 21-hour television concert "Farm Aid IV".
Beyond music specials and award shows, Bill’s worked camera on "Conan O’Brien’s Can’t Stop" feature film documentary, after Conan’s Tonight Show departure. He also won the award for Best Music Video at the Valley International Film Festival. After taking on the roles of cameraman, editor, producer and director for the video, he did the same on the highly anticipated NXL Paintball World Cup Championship, which aired worldwide on ESPN, receiving very impressive ratings.
In more recent years, Bill has dabbled in the craft of acting on such shows as Ray Donovan, S.W.A.T, House, and Lopez Vs Lopez. He’s also wielded a chainsaw as Hollywood Harry, shot Michael Myers as Dr. Loomas, and exterminated humans as Larry Larva at Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights just for fun and his love for the craft. As a tribute to where it all began, he is now very involved in the first ever dog park in Burbank, California, named after his mentor and friend Dick Clark. Bill is a proud member of The Producers Guild of America.
