JaDarrel Belser (known as JD to his friends) was born and raised in Montgomery, Alabama. His passion for acting was fueled by a love of sketch and improv comedy, particularly shows like In Living Color, SNL, Whose Line Is It Anyway, and Chappelle's Show. His acting inspirations include Eddie Murphy, John Candy, and Bill Murray. From 2003 to 2008, he served five years in the US Navy as a Hospital Corpsman (medic) for the Marines. He began his acting career in 2010. As an improv performer, he has trained and performed at The LA Connection, The Second City Hollywood, IO West, and The Underground off Sunset. His film and TV credits include MegaShark Vs Crocosaurus, Vin Diesel's The Ropes, Syfy's Geeks Who Drink, the All Def Digital film Major Label, HBO's Insecure, and ABC's Abbott Elementary. Recently, he has appeared in numerous music videos such as Kendrick Lamar's Humble, Why Don't We's Lotus Inn, Buzz Low's Thong Song Remix, Justin Timberlake's No Angels, Childish Gambino's Little Foot, and Tim Hicks' Not Truck Song. He has also been featured in commercials for Geico, Tekken Tag Team, Kelley Blue Book, and Disney Plus, including a popular Super Bowl ad for Homes.com alongside SNL star Heidi Gardner and Schitt's Creek star Daniel Levy. Beyond acting, JaDarrel was a writer and host for the pop culture site GeeksHaveGame and is the lead contributor to the well-known blog Belser-Verse on Facebook and Instagram. He was a longtime member of the YouTube sketch comedy show TMI Hollywood and co-hosted the pop culture podcast Droppin' That Culture With JD and AJ. Together with his writing partner, comedian Tim Mathis, he co-founded the production company GateCrashers Inc.
