Boyd Franklin 'Red' Morgan, an actor and stuntman, was born on October 24, 1915, in Waurika, Oklahoma. He spent his early years on a combined farm and cattle ranch. Morgan began high school in Hobbs, New Mexico, and completed it in Holtville, California. A standout athlete, he earned a football scholarship to the University of Southern California in 1935 and made his film debut as a football player in 1936. After college, he was recruited by the Washington Redskins and later played in the Pacific Coast League in 1940, joining teams like the Hollywood Bears and the Birmingham Generals. In 1942, Morgan enlisted in the U.S. Navy as an ensign. After his military service, he coached football at Polytechnic High School in Long Beach, California, until 1948. He then pursued a career as an actor and stuntman, doubling for notable actors such as Stuart Whitman, Dean Martin, Scott Brady, Gene Evans, Darren McGavin, Jim Davis, Peter Graves, and Leo Gordon. A reliable presence in Western films and television, Morgan's entertainment career spanned over fifty years. He passed away from a heart attack at age 72 on January 8, 1988, in Tarzana, California.
