Marco Antonio de Carvalho was born in Rio de Janeiro and studied Cinema at Estácio de Sá University. He trained as a professional actor at CAL. His career began as a producer on the award-winning A&E series Intervenção.
In 2022, he directed the feature film Mallandro - O Errado Que Deu Certo, produced by Melodrama and distributed by Downtown Filmes, set for theatrical release and streaming on GloboPlay in 2024. In 2023, he directed Tudo Por Um Pop Star 2, released in cinemas and on Disney Plus, produced by Panorâmica Filmes with co-production by Star Original Productions.
As a co-director, he contributed to the films Fazendo Meu Filme and Licença Para Enlouquecer.
His directorial debut came in 2012 with the institutional video Obras MAR for the Roberto Marinho Foundation. He wrote and directed the short film Desencontros and won two awards at Rio WebFest for the music video "Vem Pra Mim" by Trio Ternura featuring Ronaldinho Gaúcho. His TV directing credits include Desencalha (Multishow), Momento Maternidade (GNT), Minha Vida Anda (GNT), Expedição Terra (Rede Globo), Meu professor é o cara (Rede Globo), Profissões do futuro (Rede Globo), Saúde à Vontade (Futura), Afinando a Língua (Futura), Um pet pra chamar de seu (Discovery), and Coisas Intangíveis (documentary series for Canal Curta!), among others.
He has directed numerous commercials for brands such as Coca-Cola, L'Oréal Paris, Hering, Mr. Músculo, Usaflex, Petrobras, Club Med, and Plural, frequently also serving as scriptwriter for these advertisements.
