Suzanne Weber served on the staff for all three seasons of Disney's acclaimed and award-winning single-camera half-hour dramedy, Andi Mack, created by Terri Minsky.
Weber is recognized for creating and performing as Anita Liberty, a performance poet who gains fame after her boyfriend, Mitchell, leaves her for a woman named Heather. In retaliation, Anita dedicates her career to publicly humiliating him. Under the Anita Liberty pseudonym, she has authored three books: How to Heal the Hurt by Hating (Villard 2006/Ballantine 1998), How to Stay Bitter Through the Happiest Times of Your Life (Villard 2006), and the YA novel The Center of the Universe (Yep, That Would Be Me) (Simon Pulse/Simon & Schuster, 2008). She also published To What Miserable Wretches Have I Been Born? Revenge Poetry for Babies and Toddlers (Atria Books/Simon & Schuster 2012) under her real name.
Weber has sold and developed several original half-hour comedy pilots, including "Not Like the Others" for Brillstein Entertainment and ABC Studios; "Play Nice" for ABC Studios with Don Todd (Samantha Who?) as Executive Producer; "Blindsided" for NBC with JoAnn Alfano (30 Rock) attached as producer, developed from a blind script deal; and "Perfect Couple," developed by HBO Studios for ABC. Additionally, she adapted her second book, How to Stay Bitter..., with NBC Studios and Broadway Video for ABC, with Alex Herschlag (Will & Grace) as Executive Producer. She also adapted her first book, How to Heal the Hurt..., into a half-hour pilot three times—twice for NBC and once for CBS.
Weber developed and wrote "Fresh Takes," a micro-series starring Alicia Keys, for Unilever and MindShare Entertainment to promote Dove's "Go Fresh" campaign. Five episodes were produced for online release and aired during MTV's The Hills.
She has performed numerous one-woman shows as Anita Liberty in New York, Los Angeles, Aspen, and San Francisco. Her one-person show, "Not Thinking About You," directed by R.J. Cutler (Nashville, The September Issue, The War Room), premiered at the HBO Comedy Arts Festival in Aspen. Weber co-wrote and starred in the short film "Anita Liberty," directed by Cutler, which was produced by the Independent Film Channel, aired on Bravo, and was an official selection at Sundance.
