Born on a ranch in North Hollywood, California, Spice Williams-Crosby rode her horse to kindergarten and spent her childhood playing in her father's medical offices. She later embarked on a career as a musician, singer, and dancer under contract with 20th Century-Fox Records.
After overcoming a seven-year struggle with drug and alcohol addiction, at age 26, she turned to God, nutrition, and exercise, committing herself to helping others transform their lives. As she matured, Spice shifted her career focus to acting for stage and film. Upon learning of roles for female warriors, wrestlers, and super-heroines, she embraced kickboxing and bodybuilding, gradually carving out a unique niche.
Spice has appeared in feature films such as Star Trek V: The Final Frontier (1989), The Cherokee Kid (1996), From Dusk Till Dawn (1996), Guyver (1991), A Simple Plan (1998), and For Love of the Game (1999). Her television guest appearances include Roseanne (1988), My Two Dads (1987), Women in Prison (1987), Mama's Family (1983), The Bold and the Beautiful, The Young and the Restless (1973), Step by Step (1991), Smart Guy (1997), Diagnosis Murder (1993), Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997), and Scrubs (2001). She describes herself as an "action actress," noting, "I can't remember doing a role where I wasn't asked to perform some kind of physical feat." Since 1986, she has stunt doubled for Deidre Hall (Marlena) on Days of Our Lives (1965) and has taken on several roles on the soap opera. She had the privilege of working with Clint Eastwood on Million Dollar Baby (2004) and enjoyed collaborating on the independent film The Dead Undead (2010) with Luke Goss. She is proud to have co-starred in The Sensei (2008), directed and starring Diana Lee Inosanto, as well as appearing in Bare Knuckles (2010). More recently, she portrayed a warden in a Stallone film and appeared as a hooker on the TV show Brooklyn Nine-Nine (2013). In 2014, she began producing her own show, I Fight for My Life, focusing on empowering women victims into victors.
Spice's stunt career began in 1980 when she was asked to double an actress playing a judo instructor opposite Rock Hudson. Since then, she has doubled for actresses including Louise Fletcher, Meg Foster, Katherine Ross, Clare Carey, Deidre Hall, Cindy Pickett, Linda Kozlowski, Eileen Brennan, Becky Ann Baker, Kelly Preston, and many others. She also serves as a stunt coordinator for feature films, television shows, and commercials, specializing in fight scenes and "hitting the ground."
Though she has crashed cars, broken through glass windows, taken stair falls, performed 30-foot ratchets, 50-foot high falls, and hung from helicopters 350 feet above the ground, Spice is perhaps best known for her ability to lift a 300-pound man overhead in a fireman's carry. In 2000, she founded the Stunt Peer Group & Emmy at the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences.
Featured on the cover and in the pages of over 100 magazines worldwide, Spice has also gained recognition as a nutritional expert. She holds two master's degrees in Fitness Science and Holistic Nutrition and a PhD in Natural Health Medicine. She has contributed to magazines such as Ms. Fitness, Natural Muscle Magazine, and World Black Belt. Spice holds a 6th DAN in Arjukanpo, 6th DAN in Doce Pares Eskrima, and certifications including Level B in Israeli Krav Panim el Panim (KAPAP), Level C in Guatemala GIKA, and Security Defensive Tactics, Inc. Alongside her husband, she launched a successful vegetarian food line called "Spice Of Life Meatless Meats & Jerky." In December 1998, she was inducted into Marquis Who's Who in America-West. One of her proudest achievements is posing for a 30-foot bronze statue symbolizing the past, present, and future female Olympic athletes. Spice aims to inspire the "women of the new millennium" to be spiritually focused, mentally alert, and physically capable. She is married to Gregory Crosby, screenwriter of Hacksaw Ridge and grandson of actor and singer Bing Crosby. They have a son, Luke, who is equally healthy and active.
