Phil Stevens grew up in the small town of Quinton in South Jersey, where his love for storytelling began through drawing, music, performance, and church productions. After high school, he enlisted in the military before transitioning into a successful career in Information Technology and creative operations.
After relocating to Georgia with his wife, Marci, Phil immersed himself in the creative arts community at 12Stone Church, where his passion for filmmaking, writing, directing, and performance reignited. What began as creative service work evolved into a calling toward emotionally grounded storytelling centered on human struggle, redemption, tension, humor, reconciliation, and hope.
Today, Phil is an award-winning filmmaker, director, cinematographer, and screenwriter based in Atlanta. His work is known for blending emotional honesty with cinematic visual storytelling, often exploring the complexity of flawed people searching for connection, healing, and purpose. His films have earned multiple Telly Awards, including honors for Directing and Cinematography, and his short film The Chasm received the Best Screenplay award at the 2026 International Christian Film and Music Festival.
While deeply rooted in faith-informed storytelling, Phil’s work spans beyond a single genre, directing both inspirational narratives and grounded dramatic thrillers. Whether behind the camera as a director, producing emotionally ambitious independent films, or leading large creative teams, Phil brings a process-driven approach to storytelling shaped by both artistic instinct and operational discipline.
Phil lives and creates in Atlanta, Georgia.
