Stephen Joseph, the middle of five children, was born in Waukegan, Illinois and raised just outside of Scranton in Factoryville, Pennsylvania. He is the son of Albert Washington Joseph, a business owner, and Carolyn Yvette Joseph, an immensely gifted singer. He has appeared in roles on major network and streaming productions, including The Rookie (ABC), Night Court (NBC), Call Me Kat (FOX), and The Chosen (Amazon Prime Video). His performances often center on principled professionals, protectors, and men driven by responsibility, authority, and heart.
Stephen’s foundation is rooted in both discipline and storytelling. He is a graduate of Penn State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Political Science and competed as a walk-on wide receiver and cornerback on the Penn State Football Team. He was part of the 2008 Big Ten Championship team and the 2010 Capital One Bowl championship team-experiences that shaped his work ethic, resilience, and ability to perform under pressure.
Beyond acting, Stephen is a lifelong musician who has played music with his brothers, Al and Chris Joseph, since their teenage years. Together, they formed a rock band that placed 6th at the Assemblies of God National Fine Arts Festival in Austin, Texas, in 2004. He also appeared in a music video for his brother Al Joseph, a world-renowned virtuoso guitarist and Kiesel guitar artist. With over 20 years as a drummer, Stephen brings a deep sense of rhythm, timing, and stamina to his performances.
Deeply committed to physical training, faith, and family, Stephen is drawn to stories about legacy, service, and men who stand in the gap for others-bringing authenticity, purpose, and presence to every role.
