Park Jung-Min was born on April 3, 1987, in Seoul, South Korea. He is a singer, actor, and member of the popular boy band SS501. His family includes his parents and two siblings: a brother and a sister, neither of whom work in the entertainment industry. At the age of 13, he was scouted by an agency and accepted by both DSP Media and S.M. Entertainment. At that time, S.M. Entertainment mentioned they were forming a new group, likely Super Junior, as Park saw them rehearsing. He ultimately chose DSP Media, believing he would debut faster there. He studied Multimedia Imaging with a major in Acting at Kyonggi University. Park Jung-Min debuted with SS501 on June 8, 2005, with their debut album Warning. Their second mini-album, Snow Prince, was released five months later in late 2005. During this period, they established their official fan club name, "Triple S," and its fan club color, pearl green. The group quickly gained popularity, winning numerous rookie awards shortly after their debut.
In 2009, Park made his musical debut in Grease as Danny Park, earning the Best New Musical Talent award at the Golden Ticket Awards. He also debuted as a lead actor in Human Theater 2010. After his contract expired, Park left DSP Media, which managed him as part of SS501, and joined CNr Media as a solo artist. He debuted as a soloist in January 2011 with the single Not Alone and starred in his first Japanese drama, Love Song, in August 2011. Later, he signed with Yamaha A&R's Victor Entertainment after successfully terminating his contract with CNr Media in 2012.
Park is fluent in Korean, Japanese, and Chinese.
