Gregory "Beau" Holden started his film career in 1986 as the personal bodyguard for Richard Gere during the production of Tri-Star's "No Mercy." He continued working with Gere on the 1987 film "Miles from Home."
In 1987, he was hired as personal bodyguard and driver for Dennis Quaid on "Everybody's All-American." After completing the film, he moved to Los Angeles and became Quaid's full-time personal assistant and driver. Together, they collaborated on 31 film and television projects from 1987 to 2008, across multiple states and several countries. Beau reunited with Quaid in 2018 for the film "I Can Only Imagine."
In 1991, Beau joined the Screen Actor's Guild (SAG-AFTRA) after being cast in a utility stunt role in the feature film "Wilder Napalm." His first speaking role was in 1995's "Something to Talk About," playing "Frank" in a party scene alongside Julia Roberts and Dennis Quaid.
In 2000, Steven Soderbergh cast him in "Traffic" as "Cal Trans - D.E.A. Agent." This film won the 7th Annual Screen Actor's Guild Award for Best Ensemble Cast in 2001.
His most prominent role to date was as "Ted Gassner," a low-level fence tortured in a garage scene by Johnny Tran with motor oil in his mouth, in "The Fast and the Furious."
He continued to take supporting roles in various films and television projects, notably HBO's "Dinner With Friends," directed by Norman Jewison.
Beau has also worked as a utility stunt performer in several films and was the stunt driver for the Jaguar X-Type in the award-winning 2002 Super Bowl commercial "Jaguar vs Snow Plow."
Starting in 2008, Holden worked as personal security, driver, and assistant for various actors, directors, and producers, most notably Nicolas Cage on eight films.
In 2017, he became the personal driver for Mahershala Ali on "Green Book" and continued in that role in 2018 for HBO's "True Detective" Season 3.
He has also served as personal driver and security for Michael Keaton, Mick Jagger, James Gandolfini, Meg Ryan, Sharon Stone, Aaron Eckhart, and Robert Pattinson on the final two Twilight films, "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 and Part 2.
