Early Life
Born in New York City, Aly’s artistic path was influenced by her father, Jeffrey, a Broadway and TV actor who nurtured her love for the arts. At age five, she began formal training in acting, singing, and dancing at Weist Barron Studios and the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. Throughout her teenage years, she starred in leading roles such as Lucy in Jekyll & Hyde and Alice in Alice in Wonderland.
She refined her skills at the Paper Mill Playhouse Musical Theater Conservatory, performing as Nellie in South Pacific and Daisy Gamble in On A Clear Day You Can See Forever during the "New Voices" Summer Concert Series.
Alongside her artistic pursuits, Aly excelled in sports, playing basketball, field hockey, and captaining her softball team as catcher. She also served as Class President for three consecutive terms and received peer nominations for "Miss Watchung Hills" and "Most Likely to Star On Broadway."
Education and Early Career
Aly graduated Magna Cum Laude from Northeastern University with a dual major in Business Administration. During college, she joined Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority and served as Philanthropy Chair for the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation. After graduation, she worked at Goldman Sachs in the Prime Brokerage division, quickly advancing to an Associate role over four years.
Despite her success in finance, Aly returned to her passion for acting, leaving the corporate world to study at James Franco's Studio 4 NYC. There, she trained in the Meisner Technique and collaborated with Franco on multiple episodes of his Emmy-nominated series, Making A Scene.
Acting and Filmmaking Career
Aly’s acting career gained rapid traction with roles in notable projects like John Wick 2, The Get Down, Younger, Vinyl, and The Deuce. She worked alongside Academy Award winner Olympia Dukakis and trained in comedy at NYC's Upright Citizens Brigade, appearing in Saturday Night Live sketches.
Her directorial debut, the short film "Roaring Tides," received accolades at festivals including Chelsea Film Festival and NYC Chain Film Festival, where Aly earned Best Actress and Best New Director awards.
Her subsequent film, "The Beginning," combines personal experience with themes of resilience and empowerment. It has garnered critical acclaim, winning her awards for Best Actress, Best Director, and recognition as Best Film Finalist, Semi-Finalist, and Best Film Winner.
With a repertoire spanning heartfelt drama to sharp comedy, Aly is currently developing two comedy TV projects: Typecast and InGeniuses.
Beyond the Camera
Aly serves as the face of NYC-based fashion brand Hailey Lyn for Nordstrom and has featured in campaigns for Rebecca Taylor, Jovani, Of Mercer, The Renwick, Hilton Hotels, and NFL Films. She is also a former Miss NJ USA Runner-Up.
Outside of acting, Aly empowers young women through The Balanced Beauty LLC, a holistic health coaching company promoting healthy and confident lifestyles. She is an active supporter of The Pink Agenda, a nonprofit dedicated to breast cancer research, honoring her mother’s memory.
