Philip Hersh, originally from Montreal, Canada, discovered his passion for the entertainment industry early on when he mimicked a police siren, causing his school bus to stop.
His versatile voice has served him well throughout his career. He has voiced over 50 characters and impressions across feature films, commercials, cartoons, video games, documentary narrations, television shows, and as a spoof guest on various radio programs.
Philip’s creativity and enthusiasm have opened many doors. He portrayed Prubear, the goodwill ambassador for Prudential Health Care, promoting healthy habits to children in South Florida schools. Through this role, he engaged with the community and supported numerous charitable organizations. In recognition of his efforts, he was honored by being selected to carry the Olympic Torch during the 1996 Summer Olympics. Additionally, Philip toured nationally in the production of Read Me A Story alongside Danny Glover, playing Clifford the Big Red Dog and advocating for literacy—a deeply rewarding experience.
One of Philip’s most memorable roles came from a film casting that turned into a quintessential Hollywood tale. Cast as Ari Joseph, an ex-Israeli Commando, he was instructed to use an Israeli accent from the start. After securing the role on the spot during a meeting with the director, he revealed the accent was an act. The director responded, “I’m so glad to have a genuine Israeli on board. The last thing I would want is an American who can impersonate an Israeli.” Philip, staying in character, replied, “When do we start shooting?” For six months, he maintained the Israeli accent in all phone calls and messages, convincingly living the part until the film’s screening, where he surprised everyone by dropping the accent during his speech. Freedom’s Gate was showcased at multiple film festivals and earned the 2005 Bronze Remi Award at Houston Worldfest.
Philip also boasts extensive hosting experience and excels at impersonating political figures, celebrities, and other notable personalities for live events and on-camera projects. His energy, enthusiasm, and adaptability have made him a trusted representative for a wide range of products and companies worldwide.
