Zariah C.A. Matthews (aka Zariah Cam) is a versatile actress, filmmaker, poet, and musician known for her captivating performances across film, television, and theater. A Sacramento native, Zariah's work spans multiple disciplines, establishing her as a standout star with a unique voice and powerful presence in the entertainment industry.
Zariah's film career gained momentum with roles in the post-apocalyptic thriller Unbelievers and the tear-jerking drama IHS: Every 15 Minutes (2015). She went on to earn the Best Actress award for her performance in the TV series Spatz (2019), followed by a starring role in the sci-fi action film Darkest Hour: Annihilation (2022).
Beyond her on-screen work, Zariah has curated a successful behind-the-scenes career, contributing as a director, casting associate, acting coach, and production coordinator for major campaigns including those for Busch Beer and Expedia.
Raised by her super-mother Carla Marie Matthews, Zariah's diverse background in athletics and the arts has shaped her disciplined approach to her craft. Spellbound by music and film, young zariah taught herself how to play piano, in addition to writing, directing, and producing her first stage-play Meet the Westbrooks (2014), along with two short films-Roger's Monster and Pass the Note (2015) - demonstrating her creative drive from an early age. By her senior year in high school, Zariah became a published poet. Continuing to champion the art, she was named Sacramento's Best Female Spoken Word Performer, further cementing her status as a multifaceted artist (2017). Today, she channels her energy into acting, writing, and composing, and coaching, continually empowering others through her storytelling.
