Quincy Evans Okechukwu Ndekwe was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota, as the second of four siblings. His mother, Debra, is a secretary from Minnesota, and his father, Fintan, is a pharmacist from Nigeria. After graduating from high school, he enrolled at Rochester Community College with plans to pursue a career in Physical Therapy.
During college, he took a theater class and was encouraged to audition for a role in an upcoming production. Although he was offered a part, he declined to stay focused on his studies. However, his theater teacher recognized his talent and urged him to consider acting more seriously. A few months later, he landed his first on-stage role, which kickstarted his acting career. While performing in his initial show, he was invited to audition for the role of a young soldier in Steven Dietz’s play "Last of the Boys" at the Rochester Repertory Theatre downtown, a role he secured. His first paid acting job soon followed, starring as a lead in "RACE - to the finish," a play addressing ongoing social racial inequalities.
With a renewed passion for acting, he sought representation from agencies in his hometown and quickly began booking commercials. After earning his Liberal Arts and Science degree and achieving several acting successes, he decided to take the next step and moved to Los Angeles. Since then, he has appeared in numerous productions, including Rosewood (2015) starring Morris Chestnut, Kessi Blue (2016), which won "Best Drama" at the Pasadena Film Festival, and Upstairs (2013), directed by award-winning filmmaker Montana Mann.
