Patrick Edward Wynne is an award-winning American actor based in Los Angeles, California, who also plays percussion and piano.
Born on October 10, 1987, in Fort Worth, Texas, Wynne is the son of Rose (Mueller) and Peter Wynne. He has Irish and Dutch heritage from his father's side and Mexican and Swiss-German roots on his mother's side. He has an older sister named Kara. At nine years old, Wynne developed a passion for drumming, which led to his acceptance into the Fine Arts program at Texas Christian University in Fort Worth. There, he studied music and percussion performance, participating in orchestra, concert band, percussion ensemble, jazz band, steel band, and drumline. Wynne graduated cum laude in 2010 with a Bachelor of Music Education focused on Percussion Performance. After graduation, he relocated to Los Angeles to pursue a career in the performing arts.
Wynne began his acting career in commercials, securing a national television role for Nissan Heisman House on ESPN in 2012, where he played a drumline member, a role suited to his musical skills. Within his first year in film acting, he landed the lead in his debut feature film, Seventy-Nine (2013), which premiered at Quentin Tarantino's New Beverly Cinema in Los Angeles. Before filming, Wynne trained privately with June Barfield from the Stella Adler Academy of Acting & Theatre. He then starred as Al in the sci-fi short film Slumptown (2014), directed by Bryan Costanich. Wynne earned significant acclaim for this role, winning Best Actor at the Other Worlds Austin Sci-Fi Film Festival in Austin, Texas. To prepare for Al, Wynne trained with Robert Amico of the London Theatre in North Hollywood, California. His growing success led him to become a spokesperson for the Sonim XP7, a rugged Android smartphone. He hosted the Indiegogo campaign that surpassed its funding goal to bring the device to market. Wynne continues to build his reputation as a talented actor.
