Danish Aslam is an Indian filmmaker whose portfolio includes feature films, streaming originals, and television projects. He debuted as a director with the 2010 romantic comedy-drama Break Ke Baad, featuring Deepika Padukone and Imran Khan. His second film, Khwaabon Ka Jhamela, produced by Jio Studios and starring Prateik Babbar, Sayani Gupta, and Kubbra Sait, was released in 2024 and received significant digital attention. Currently, he is working on his third feature, a Netflix original starring Imran Khan, Bhumi Pednekar, and Gurfateh Pirzada, marking Khan's highly awaited return to cinema.
Between these films, Danish established himself as a leading figure in India's digital content surge. He directed and co-wrote several well-received web series, including Flesh (Eros Now), a gripping drama starring Swara Bhasker and Akshay Oberoi; both seasons of Voot's It's Not That Simple (also featuring Bhasker); The Reunion for Zoom Studios, with Veer Rajwant Singh, Kashmira Irani, and KK Raina; and Time Out for Voot, starring Tahir Raj Bhasin and Sarah Jane Dias. He also directed the episode "She Loves Me, She Loves Me Not" in the Netflix anthology Feels Like Ishq, featuring Saba Azad.
In television, Danish directed the historical drama Siyaasat (Epic), the musical Kabhi Aise Geet Gaya Karo (Disney), and youth-oriented series like Yeh Hai Aashiqui and Love By Chance (both for Bindass), demonstrating his versatility across historical, musical, and contemporary romantic genres.
Earlier in his career, he gained valuable experience as an assistant director on notable Hindi films such as Fanaa, Ta Ra Rum Pum, Thoda Pyaar Thoda Magic, Being Cyrus, Salaam Namaste, Lakshya, and Swades. These roles gave him a strong foundation in both mainstream blockbusters and unconventional, character-driven narratives, a diverse approach evident in his own directing style.
